Co-operation Project:

Know-how Transfer on Wastewater Treatment by   Constructed Wetlands in Rural Areas of the Baltic

The Baltic States have to improve their wastewater situation in rural areas. There is a wide need for effective and simple treatment plants. Whereas in most European countries wastewater treatment by constructed wetlands has been standardized, in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania only little experiences with this technology exist. This project intends to improve the popularity of this treatment systems and aims at an exchange of practical experiences, know-how transfer and future co-operation between municipalities, authorities, engineers and researchers.
